LEGO has withdrawn one of its products, LEGO City Crooks Hideout Raid (60278), from store shelves and cancelled it completely.

Having today received an official statement from LEGO comfirming that decision:

With LEGO City, we always aim to represent the reality of the world in a way that is fun, positive and appropriate for kids. With this in mind, we have decided not to launch this product as we no longer feel it is in keeping with the values of the LEGO City brand.

This isn’t the first time LEGO has cancelled a set, cast your minds back to last Year when the LEGO Technic V-22 Osprey (42113) was recalled moments after its official release.

It seems as though LEGO has learnt from its mistake last time and cancelled/recalled its stock before release day. If anyone does happen to find one out in the wild I’m sure it’ll fetch a pretty penny, if you’re that way inclined!

A big thank you to Brick Fanatics for uncovering this information!
