The list of LEGO Ideas submissions that have made it through to a future review stage keeps growing, with the latest one recreating an iconic One Direction concert and the band as LEGO Minifigures!
The fan designer, Josh Bricks, has created a full concert stage, with a main platform and front walkway in red, side walkways and screens with the band’s name, an elevated area for the drummer, lighting on the front of the stage and numerous technical details. The stage includes the full band along with their instruments – drums, guitars, keyboard and microphones.
Each Minifigure represents a member of the group, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, each interacting with the audience and reflecting their personality on stage, making the model come to life from every angle.
Josh Bricks has done a wonderful job in capturing the energetic body band in all their glory. The set offers great visual appeal thanks to the screens, lights and structure, it also allows for future expansion with public, backstage or/and dressing rooms. It conveys values such as creativity, teamwork and passion for music.
Fans of both the band and LEGO would love to get their hands on this set if it were real. Unfortunately reaching the required goal of 10,000 supporters doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next year – we wish Josh Bricks the best of luck in the next stage.
