LEGO have released their 2019 financial results, and they have bounced back from 2018’s slump.

Financial stats

Revenue is reported at DKK 38.5 Billion, which is a safe 6% uptake from 2018.

Consumer sales increased as well by 5.6%.

3% rise in profits despite the fact that the LEGO Group investing in various long term initiatives.

Top selling themes were:

  • LEGO Star Wars
  • LEGO Marvel Superheroes
  • LEGO Technic
  • LEGO City
  • LEGO Friends
  • LEGO Classic

The top two entries were from licensed themes and were backed by major film releases, which obviously helps.


LEGO expanded into China and opened 140 stores in different Provinces, as a result they saw a double digit growth. They plan on doubling that number of stores in the future, so expect to see more Chinese theme sets.

LEGO plan on opening a India office in 2020, another market they may try and penetrate.


In short, our much loved plastic brick company looks to have done well, and long may it continue!
