At LEGO CON 2021, LEGO revealed three new LEGO Star Wars sets based on the second season of The Mandalorian!

Fans quickly noticed that one set was a little off, Boba Fett’s Starship (75312). As most of us know the long standing original name of this Bounty Hunters ship is Slave I.

LEGO Star Wars Design Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen has said that Disney requested LEGO to rename it, as reported by Jedi News.

“probably not something which has been announced publicly but it is just something that Disney doesn’t want to use any more.”

Disney have been moving away from the word ‘slave’ over the Years and have eradicated it on  merchandise and in their marketing, in particularly the use of ‘Slave Leia’.

The previous LEGO Star Wars Slave 1 sets have all retired so it makes sense to Rename the iconic ship now.

Boba Fett’s new Starship set will be available from 1st August 2021 and retail at £44.99.
