There have been quite a few good Mediterranean houses on LEGO Ideas. Sadly, none of those have made it past a review to become a set. This Ideas entry is no exception to the great quality of previous entries. The Greek Holiday build is instantly recognisable for the blue and white color scheme like you’ll find in Santorini.

The house is beautifully decorated with several plants and trees. According to the creator:

I really enjoyed decorating the house with all those different kind of plants, including the most loved Greek flowers – Bougainvillea

On the back a small shed for the animals like a goat, sheep or chickens. Inside there’s also a cat attracted to the fish that’s being prepared in the kitchen. The interior also includes a small bedroom, a bathroom and a toilet.

A great detail is the way the road is constructed, with sideways plates, slopes and tiles. No official set has used this technique before. Another great detail is the use of classic shutters and doors to incorporate a bit of a personal touch to the build.

They belonged to my father, who 40 years earlier used to build his very own creations with the exact same bricks. Our little Lego-legacy lives on to this day with my MOCs

All in all this is a wonderfully detailed build that would provide a set that’s both suitable for play and display.
