The LEGO Castle theme remains very popular wit AFOL‘s and a great source of inspiration for (MOC) builders. Within Castle there are various subthemes, with Forestmen from the late eighties and early nineties being very popular. Sets from this era therefore are an inspiration for Ideas entries more often. But this entry by Iyan Ha really stands out.

We featured Iyan Ha before here on The Brick Post with the ‘Where’s Wally?’ entry, currently in review after making the 10k supporters. You can check it out here.

What we get with this idea is a rather elegant ‘wooden’ building. To give this building its interesting character there’s a lot of different textures. From rocks on the bottom to treebranches higher up. The Forestmen shields are used to great effect. Other details like the blue roofs and target practice prints pay homage to the previous sets.

This project is a base for forest people deep in the forest. The concept of a building is a natural blend of trees, rocks, and building.
The building is a wooden building and harmonizes well with the natural things of the surrounding environment.
It’s perfect for their base, living in the deep forest, living a righteous outlaw life like Robin Hood. The exterior is mainly brown and dark gray, the colors of trees and rocks. And the green of leaves or vines surrounds them.

The entry uses 2743 parts and 6 minifigures and 5 animals are included. Just like the Castle sets we got in the last few years updated versions of classic figures are used, adding to the nostalgic feel of this set.

The inside of the building is packed with many small details and great parts to enhance the build. And a lot of round tiles with wood pattern really connect the outside of the building with the inside.

A final fun detail is the prison with skeleton like we’ve seen in many LEGO sets. This really completes the nostalgic feel of this idea for me. I can only encourage you to have a look at the project using the link below, and to see and read more about all the details in this lush build.

We would like to wish Iyan Ha the best of luck in gaining the required 10k support. If you like the look of this idea and would like to give your support, please use the links below. Registration is free to LEGO Ideas and only takes a minute, so head over there now and do your part!
