There’s a brand new LEGO Ideas challenge on the block dubbed Prehistory 2.0!

The team have out done themselves this time with perhaps the most creative challenge theme yet. Take something Prehistoric and give it a modern twist, add a pinch of epic anachronism to your scene, build, or setup. The perfect example is a T.Rex influencer struggling to take a selfie (those short arms will always get ya). Stone Age street food. Pterosaurs getting parking tickets for landing in a No-Fly Zone. Neanderthals discovering fire – then immediately inventing the matcha latte. The possibilities are endless.

As always there are guidelines to follow, such as builds must be new, you cannot use brick-built or moulded dinosaurs / creatures from any existing LEGO sets. Avoid references to existing brands, IP, or third-party creations, such as Jurassic Park or Disney. Avoid using brick-built or moulded dinosaurs/creatures from any existing LEGO sets. Use only generic Minifigures.

Submit your build by 10th June 2026 at 10:00 AM UTC. Read more about the LEGO Ideas Challenge below and click here to be taken to the official website. Good luck!

Jump in, builders; we’re disrupting the timeline!

Have you ever looked at the fossilized remains of a Stegosaurus and thought: “If I had four skateboards and a ramp I bet I could get it to do a back flip”? Then this challenge is right up your alley.

You’re hereby invited to build something prehistoric, and give it a modern, contemporary twist. Add a pinch of epic anachronism to your scene, build, or setup. Something surprising. Something only you could come up with.

Putting the ‘lit’ back in Paleolithic

The vibe is T.rex influencer struggling to take a selfie (those short arms will always get ya). Stone Age street food. Pterosaurs getting parking tickets for landing in a No-Fly Zone. Neanderthals discovering fire – then immediately inventing the matcha latte.

What’s your perfect prehistoric scene or build with an unexpected contemporary twist? Funny, silly, weird, ridiculous – the bigger the better. Much like dinosaurs.

Prehistory with an awesome modern twist

Maybe it’s Brontosaur bros with a podcast. If it’s an ancient scene or build, and if it has one contemporary surprise built into it that makes you smile, chuckle, laugh out loud, think, and/or go “wow”, it’ll nail the spirit of the challenge.

Just to make things super clear, this challenge is not a modern scene with a prehistoric twist. It’s a prehistoric scene with an unexpected modern twist! A small nuance, maybe, but it makes a big difference.

Ready? Go build!

You can find all the practical stuff in the sections below. Go make history – then change it around.
