Most of the specialist moulded pieces are often usable, without much imagination needed, outside of their intended use.

This next piece however takes real genius to break away from the norm to really make these new, ugly, cumbersome pieces come to life.

The piece in question is from the new Ninjago Arcade Pods, you may have come across them already, if not here’s a reminder of what they look like stripped down:

Ninjago Arcade Pod

This brings me to this week’s MOC Feature, from Instagram user XenLC.

He has an awesome collection of creations from room-sets to modulars, vehicles to Mechs, there’s something for everyone to like here!

The three I’ll be focusing on and discussing are based on the above mentioned Ninjago Arcade Pod piece and the simple but amazing transformations he’s done.

XenLC Newsstand

The Newsstand implements the blue arcade pod, and to great effect I might add. The added extras to turn this into a usable piece is amazing, and are quite minimal.

Sloped blue and white tiles for the canopy, the Newsstand sign, and newspapers, and lots of them.

Not taking anything anyway from the creator when I say the word ‘simple’, as I know myself, creating something from scratch and that hasn’t been done before is difficult, especially in the LEGO community!

For something that looks so simple to create is in fact quite complex and at times challenging.

That’s what makes these Arcade Pod modifications great!

XenLC Fruit Stall

The Fruit stall is based on the green arcade pod and suits the grocery stand to a tee!

An assortment of fruit and vegetareables in crates are available to purchase.

I especially like the canopy on this one with the poles to hold them up.

XenLC Cap Shop

XenLC has used the Red arcade pod for a Baseball Cap seller, which works good with the mainly red caps.

Again the canopy is great and the colours work well too opting for white and yellow.

They are truly awesome MOCs, and such a great use for those monstrous over sized Ninjago Arcade Pods.
