The perfect pairing doesn’t exi….wait, LEGO recently unveiled the Scaled-Up Blue Astronaut Minifigure (40921), the next in the big-fig subtheme – combine that with the Up-Scaled Baby Astronaut (40767) from last year and you have the perfect pair!

The up-scaled range of Minifigures consists of six characters, one of which is a LEGO House exclusive. In the lineup are two Harry Potter characters, a Pirate, generic Minifigure, an Octan Race Driver, and Santa. Slightly smaller in stature but very much a part of the collection is the Baby Astronaut, dressed in a red Space suit, it brings the whole family together, no matter how odd they seem together. With the announcement of the Scaled-Up Blue Astronaut Minifigure (40921) last week, fans of both the big-figs and Space can rejoice in the news and revel at the images until it’s official release 1st March.

Unfortunately there is no word of the 250 piece Baby Astronaut set returning as a gift with purchase, but it is readily available on the secondary market for around £30. Originally available with purchases of £135/$150/150€ or more, it was a considerably pricey spend, but the build and final product is epic, and a must for collector.

The Scaled-Up Blue Astronaut Minifigure (40921) has the usual articulation that previous iterations have. There is a small brick-built robot that can be inserted inside the helmet that seemingly controls the big figure. Coming in at £54.99/$59.99/€59.99, the price is in keeping with past sets, with 793 pieces, it’s a good ratio of cost to parts. This will be a hugely popular set when it drops, so expect it to go on back order within 24 hours, if it doesn’t I’d be super surprised.

Is this set on your radar? Check out the images below and share your thoughts in the comments section. Watch this space for a future giveaway* centred on the LEGO Space theme, if we can get our hands on a certain Baby Astronaut set of course.

*giveaway not guaranteed to happen, depends if we can source a new, unopened, Baby Astronaut set
