The LEGO Group have announced today that they will invest over $360 million (US) to build and operate a massive 2,000,000-square-foot regional distribution centre in Prince George, Virginia, US. It would be the second distribution centre in the country alongside the existing one in Texas. Sadly there aren’t any pictures yet of the site, so here’s the lovely LEGO Delivery Truck set instead.

The LEGO Group to open regional distribution center in Virginia, U.S. in 2027

Virginia, USA, May 2025: The LEGO Group today announced it will invest US $366 million to build and operate a 2,000,000-square-foot regional distribution center (RDC) in Prince George, Virginia, U.S. The RDC is expected to be operational in 2027, with construction starting later this year.

The RDC will support the LEGO Group’s future factory in Greater Richmond, Virginia, which is currently being built and set to open in 2027. The new facility is part of the company’s global supply strategy to locate factories and distribution centers close to major markets and ensure capacity to support future growth in the region. A build-to-suit lease for the RDC was signed with Crosspointe Commerce Center, a joint venture between Hillwood Investment Properties and The Silverman Group.

Carsten Rasmussen, Chief Operations Officer of the LEGO Group, said: “The regional distribution center will bring greater flexibility to our network, ensuring we are well positioned to support long-term growth in the Americas. Together with our future Virginia factory, the RDC will shorten our supply chain in the region – reducing lead times for our customers as well as our environmental impact. We are grateful for the continued support from the Commonwealth of Virginia.”

The RDC will be the second in the company’s Americas network, joining an existing center in Fort Worth, Texas. It will be operated by a third-party logistics partner, creating 305 jobs. The 2027 Virginia factory will create more than 1,700 jobs with the LEGO Group once fully operational.

The LEGO Group has additionally opened a new factory in Binh Duong, Vietnam in April 2025, and is expanding three of its existing factories in Nyíregyháza, Hungary; Jiaxing, China; and Monterrey, Mexico to meet future demand around the world. The company opened its second RDC in Europe in Belgium in 2024 and will officially open its second RDC in Asia in Vietnam later in 2025.
