With the current Coronavirus pandemic set backs have been felt most in the US. The Mexico production facility has seen some closures over the past several months and this in turn causes delays in producing the sets, this was confirmed by the LEGO AFOL Engagement team.

No official news yet as to when the August wave of releases will finally be available but they are still expected within this month.

One theme that did launch on time was LEGO Super Mario. The others still awaiting release are: LEGO City, Star Wars, Friends, and Harry Potter.

A spokesperson from AFOLET explains:

“I have been informed that due to the LEGO Mexico factory closures, we (in NA) moved out a list of products from Aug. 1 to Sep. 1. With that said, we have been informed we can sell the products upon receipt so we may launch them prior to Sept. 1st. This is why these items are listed as “coming soon” without a date. So they will launch anytime between now and Sept. 1st.”

We’re you effected by the late releases, or wanted to grab that ‘grail’ set but couldn’t? Let us know in the comments below.
