The Concorde was a true icon of the sky the decades it was in service. It’s unusual shapes, the dazzling speed. Even though it was only operated by Air France and British Airways flying to New York, it still managed to capture the imagination of many people beyond that. So it was exciting to see rumours popping up a few months ago that we would get a 18+ LEGO Icons Concorde set!

Today one was spotted and pictures of the box shared by The Brick News on Instagram.

The result certainly does not disappoint. The nose can drop (as was needed for take-off), there’s retractable landing gear and many details both on the inside and outside of the model. The model contains 2,083 pieces, will be released in September and retail for $/€199.99.

The color scheme is chosen from the original launch version from 1969. Perhaps not the most iconic and including the Air France and British Airways versions as alternates would have been a suitable extra. Still, it looks set to be a stunning model with plenty of detail.

What do you think of this LEGO Concorde? Will this be flying off the shelf with supersonic speed? Share your thoughts below!
