This week’s LEGO Ideas Feature is based on a classic book and movie. Although it’s not a Christmas story it gives me festive vibes, perhaps the snowy location does it for me, who knows.

Introducing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – Here We Go Again by FACEBRICKUP!

With the brand new movie hitting cinemas this week (8th December 2023), I thought it was extremely apt to share this with you. Plus I love chocolate so it made sense to choose this submission.

The idea itself is executed well and the images uploaded by the creator are shiny and look stunning. I like the overall size of the build as it would be a perfect shelf sitter as well as a set to explore and play with.

Immerse yourself in one of the most iconic scenes of the famous book simply thanks to the magic of the bricks. Relive Charlie Bucket’s fantastic journey and discover all the mysteries that the Factory hides, but beware of the Oompa-Loompas!

From the moving GIF image above we can see just how much of it moves and the playable features on offer. It must have taken some extraordinary brick engineering to get it all working.

That’s not all, there are a plethora of Minifigure characters included, they are:

  • Charlie Bucket
  • Willy Wonka
  • Augustus Gloop
  • Veruca Salt
  • Violet Beauregarde
  • Mike Teevee
  • Two Oompa-Loompas

Each one looks like their onscreen counterparts, I especially like Mr Wonka and the Oompa-Loompas, even if they are shiny, computer generated, Minifigures.

From the birds-eye view image below you can see just how big the set is, it’s both huge and impressive. It’s of course inspired by the magical Chocolate-filled land that we see when first entering the Factory. FACEBRICKUP has done a wonderful job in capturing and recreating a slice of Wonka’s iconic Factory and I personally would love to own and display it if/when LEGO Ideas choose it.

It’s a bright and colourful build that features a lot of areas to feast your eyes on, including a bridge, chocolate river & waterfall, many unique & tasty looking plant-life, a candy style tree and so much more. I’ve glanced over the images many times and always find something new that I missed before. It’s a set that keeps on giving and again one I’d love to add to the collection.

Without giving too much away, I’d like you to view the submission itself on LEGO Ideas, so please get over there now and give your support.

We would like to wish FACEBRICKUP the best of luck in gaining the required 10k support. If you like the look of this idea and would like to give your support, please use the link below. Registration is free to LEGO Ideas and only takes a minute, so head over there now and do your part!
