One of the latest designs to gain the required 10,000 supporters and added to a future review stage at LEGO Ideas is based on a popular American sitcom, How I Met Your Mother!
The design idea comes from H1GHDEF1N1T1ON, and features all the main areas of the apartment along with many details, references and easter eggs. With over 3,000 pieces, the build is chock-full of fun, complete with 5 Minifigure characters including Ted Mosby, Marshall Eriksen, Lily Aldrin, Barney Stinson, and Robin Scherbatsky. Some of the character centric items and prints are present too, Lily’s “you’re dead to me” look, the duck tie that Barney wears, or even Robin’s fierce expression when she gets energetic about hockey/interacts with Patrice.
If you’re unfamiliar with the show, it follows Ted Mosby, an architect, who recounts to his children the events that led him to meet their mother. His journey is made more eventful by the presence of his friends Lily, Marshall, Robin and Barney.
The idea looks great and similar in style to past LEGO F.R.I.E.N.D.S sets, with an open plan topless design. It is definitely one many fans of the show would love the opportunity to purchase, display on their shelf, and recreate iconic scenes from the show. I think the overall look is fantastic and brings something unique to the LEGO Ideas table.
Unfortunately reaching the required goal of 10,000 supporters doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next/this year – we wish H1GHDEF1N1T1ON the best of luck in the next stage – it’s truly beautiful.
