Minifigure Monday – The Punisher (Frank Castle) Is In The Building!

It’s a new week which means a new Minifigure Monday, our chance to showcase a random Minifigure chosen by myself and partner in crime Mark from @the.brickloft. Today we have The Punisher (Frank Castle) for you!

The unique and very rare Minifigure has only appeared in one LEGO set, the LEGO Marvel Daily Bugle (76178), which released in 2021. Unfortunately the set is now retired, so getting your hands on this Minifigure and the set is a tad harder to do, and more pricey. When the set was available it had a price tag of $349.99/£299.99. However it’s The Punisher we’re showcasing here, with his cool and rugged design, a bit about the character and finally a picture of two.

Ifyou are unfamiliar with the comic book, TV show, or movies, then The Punisher (Frank Castle) is a Marvel Comics antihero and vigilante created by writer Gerry Conway and artists John Romita Sr. and Ross Andru. First appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #129 (February 1974), he is defined by his brutal, lethal methods in a one-man war against organized crime, triggered by the murder of his wife and children.

Thanks to the LEGO Daily Bugle (76178) set we have been graced with 25 amazing Minifigures based on Marvel characters, but there’s something The Punisher that just oozes awesomeness. The Minifigure has the iconic Skull printed onto the torso, along with a printed utility belt. Unfortunately it doesn’t have all over body printing but the dual moulded legs do work well and look the part. The grittiness of the character has been portrayed well on the Minifigure, with the dual printed facial expressions resembling that – one has a cocky smirk to it, whilst the other has a plaster above his right eye after being in a scrap or two.
