The LEGO range of Up-Scaled Minifigures is set to expand next month with the release of the Blue Astronaut (40921). The perfect choice in many fans’ eyes, as it is a staple in modern LEGO history. It first appeared in 1984, whilst the original LEGO Space theme and its Minifigures (white and yellow) debuted earlier in 1978, the blue variant was introduced later. Often appearing in Space sets, like the 6971 Intergalactic Command Base.
Other Up-scaled Minifigures in the family came before it, with the likes of the standard Minifigure, Octan Driver, Harry Potter & Hermione Granger, Santa, and the LEGO House exclusive Pirate – there was even a Baby Astronaut last year – we’ll also mention the Wooden Minifigure as an honorary member. They all look awesome in their own right and fit amongst fans displays with ease, I have most of them iny personal collection, soon to be adding the elusive Pirate. But seeing all these glorious Minifigures in a much larger format got me thinking, who else would I want to see up-scaled?
With so many LEGO Minifigure characters out there, it would be a near impossible task to choose just one. So here is my personal top five (in no particular order) that I would like to see up-scaled:
- Johnny Thunder
- Darth Vader
- Aloy (Horizon)
- Demogorgon
- Winnie the Pooh
