The latest design to gain the required 10,000 supporters at LEGO Ideas is the Bearded Vulture (Gypaetus Barbatus)!
From the talented mind of Jacker76, comes a unique and never-before-seen build in the brick community. The Bearded Vulture is a large bird of prey found in mountainous regions of Europe, Africa, and Asia. It has a distinctive appearance, with a brown body and a white head with a black, beard-like ruff of feathers around its neck. Bearded vultures feed primarily on bones, which they drop from great heights to crack open and access the marrow inside. This design is far from cutesy, it’s a build of majestic beauty and an appreciation to Birds of prey.
The complete set is made up of 1,608 pieces, the base of the display measures 32×32 studs. It has an impressive wingspan of 83cm. The peculiarity of this model are the wings, built in such a way that they can be displayed closed and opened, just like the wings of a real-life Vulture.

The idea looks great and one many bird and LEGO fans would love to get their hands on, it’s the perfect display piece. I think the overall look is fantastic and brings something different to the LEGO Ideas table. It would look great on display alongside the LEGO Icons King Fisher and other animal centric sets. The Model can assume various poses making the set customisable. The section of landscape and remains also adds to it being a stunning display piece.
Unfortunately reaching the required goal of 10,000 supporters doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next/this year – we wish Jacker76 the best of luck in the next stage.
