The tiny plant characters from LEGO are bloomin’ marvelous, first we had Happy Plants, and now we have the Rocking Plants!
Flowering in LEGO stores and online 1st May, the 253 piece set retails for £17.99/$22.99/€19.99. It features two more pastel colored pots each with their own unique personality – the Delosperma named Lumi and the Echeveria named Ellie. The pots have adorable smiley faces and rounded bottoms, so they rock when nudged – the pale green plant pot rocks back and forth, and the pale pink plant pot rocks side to side. For extra fun, both LEGO plants are compatible with both pots, and they can even be interchanged with the pots in the Happy Plants (10349) set, sold separately. This encourages fans to get creative and craft a custom plant display that’s fun and different.

These little chappies are so versatile that MOC builders and fans alike have taken it upon themselves to ‘upgrade’ them in varies ways, including turning them into gunslinging Mechs. The in-house LEGO design team have stuck to the simple but super effective look of the previous Happy Plants set and given us two more characters, this time with names – Lumi and Ellie. Keeping the builds simple is a great move as it opens the joy of building LEGO up to more people, whilst giving lifelong fans something that is consistent. Inside the box are two small instruction manuals, making it the perfect set to build with a friend or family member. All this for a great price of just £17.99/$22.99/€19.99.
As the name suggests, both plant pots can rock back and forth, or side to side, adding to the enjoy the first set brought to the subtheme. Combine this with the cheeky face prints, yes printed parts, the characters spring to life. Where do LEGO go from here? Happy Plants stand and sit, Rocking Plants… rock, but what next? For me personally I’d love to see taller/narrower plant pots, to give the quirky group a different height comparison, making for better photographs.
We absolutely love this series of smiley, cheeky, plant pots and hope the subtheme of LEGO Botanicals continues for many more sets. What would you like to see next? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
