LEGO Ideas has launched a new contest that offers up another chance for a fans creation to become a GWP (gift with purchase) sometime in the future!
The theme of the contest is Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, or STEM for short. Entrants must follow certain guidelines and stick to the amount of parts allowed, between 150 to 250.
Previous contest winners have been the Sailboat, Vintage Car, and Rocket Ride so think along those lines and you may have a good chance of winning and getting your hands on the very impressive prize bundle, which consists of a handful of sets and of course their creation turned into a future GWP.
One Grand Prize Winner will receive:
- 21332: LEGO Ideas Globe
- 42130: LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR
- 42139: LEGO Technic All-terrain vehicle
- 42120: LEGO Technic Rescue Hovercraft
- 40487: LEGO Sailboat Adventure (GWP)

Official description:
Ready, Set, Go STEM
Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths are for movers and shakers, but can you create a small STEM themed model that features some sort of movement to stand the chance of becoming a real LEGO Gift with Purchase?
In this contest, you need to build a model which is at most 250 bricks, with a minimum of 150 bricks. You can use LEGO Technic elements to make your build move, but please use primarily LEGO System elements.
We’re not looking for too complex functions, so please keep your movement simple. For example, a rotation, push or pull, or something opening and closing. Tensegrity builds are allowed, but the model should also work and look nice when it is not in a tensegrity position.
Although we love cars, we’re looking for something a little different this time. Up for the challenge? Let’s go!
