One of the latest designs to gain the required 10,000 supporters at LEGO Ideas is a totally unique and stunning light box!

This build, The Light Box by Woligan, holds up to three levels of scenery – foreground, middleground and background. Each level is separated by dividers and can be easily removed without having to remove any individual pieces or surrounding layers. The lid contains a system of light brics that can all be lit simultaneously by pressing the button on top. This creates a background light that, together with the white back wall, helps to highlight and emphasise the silhouettes. This combined with LEGO bricks makes something elegant, functional and perfect for display. If chosen by the LEGO Ideas team is could become a real purchasable set.

My idea behind this is to create a decorative and reconfigurable set. Perspective and light create a sense of depth in the scene that emerges. Woligan

The idea looks great and one many Art fans would love to get their hands on, it’s the perfect display piece. I think the overall look is fantastic and brings something very different to the LEGO Ideas table, with the addition of the lights it’s a sure fire winner. The creator has said that a mix of extra pieces that can be used to build other scenarios could be included, opening up the build to creative fans to experiment with. It’s most certainly the perfect scale to be displayed on a desk or bookshelf, alongside other themed pieces of LEGO Art.

Unfortunately reaching the required goal of 10,000 supporters doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next/this year – we wish Woligan the best of luck in the next stage.
