The Little Tikes Cozy Coupé was most people’s first car, sure it was a child’s toy and bright red & yellow, but that that put anyone off. The four wheeled, chunky plastic, foot-powered beast is still a fan favourite to this day. The iconic Little Tikes Cozy Coupe was first created and released in 1979 and designed by former Chrysler designer Jim Mariol. It was designed to encourage active play, with production taking place in Hudson, Ohio. By 1991, it became America’s top-selling automobile and loved all over the globe!

I remember having one when I was younger, and later seeing the kids my childminding mother looked after playing with them, they have been around for what seems an eternity. So when a LEGO MOC of one appeared on Rebrickable I just knew I had to share it with you. From the talented mind of SFH_Bricks, comes a recreation of the iconic Little Tikes Cozy Coupé car but made entirely of LEGO pieces and being Minifigure scale.

It’s not a Ferrari, but it is red and yellow. The car we all dreamed of having (as toddlers). It came equipped with a high quality plastic steering wheel, a squeaky horn and super headlight eyes. The designer has done an incredible job with the build and would be on my list to make one day, coming in at just 83 pieces it wouldn’t break the bank. You can source the parts direct through Rebrickable via BrickLink or BrickOwl, you’ll also find the instructions here too which are free of charge.
