The latest design to gain the required 10,000 supporters at LEGO Ideas is something refreshingly different, Tulip Field Windmill!

From the talented mind of HisBrickMaterials, comes a unique looking Windmill surrounded by beautiful Tulips. If you recognise the fan designers name, well done, he is the brainchild of the upcoming LEGO Ideas Floating Sea Otters (21366) set. This design is far from cutesy sea creatures, but equally as majestic, with its tall and traditional body shape and elegant sails. The colour scheme used is very reminiscent of the Netherlands, the Tulip Field Windmill features a classic rotating windmill nestled among vibrant rows of tulips.

Inside the Windmill is a fully furnished interior as well as technical elements to let the windmill blades turn, this is the perfect set to celebrate humanity’s ability to work with nature. Windmills have been harnessing the power of wind for over a thousand years, originating around the 9th century. They became essential tools for grinding grain, pumping water and powering early industry.

The idea looks great and one many fans would love to get their hands on, it’s a perfect shelf sitter. I think the overall look is fantastic and brings something different to the LEGO Ideas table. The piece count would be high, especially when there are 100s/1000s of Tulips surrounding the Windmill. I could see LEGO honouring the building itself but maybe cutting back on the flowers slightly.

Unfortunately reaching the required goal of 10,000 supporters doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next/this year – we wish HisBrickMaterials the best of luck in the next stage.
