We’re back with another awesome alternative set build, this time transforming the LEGO Optimus Prime BrickHeadz (40803) and LEGO Red Dragon (31145) sets into an awesome mini G1 Optimus Prime Transformer!

The talented designer, PaulvilleMOCs, has taken two cutesy looking sets and converted them into a mini LEGO Optimus Prime figure. The alternative build uses parts from both sets to construct the fully posable mini Transformer, thanks to the ball & sockets elements. If you are a fan of Transformers and have the other sets in the LEGO lineup, you’ll want to source extra sets to build this mini version of the Autobots leader. PaulvilleMOCs has done an amazing job in creating a cool alternative design using just the parts found in the two aforementioned sets.

This action figure of Optimus Prime is built from only the parts included in 40803 Optimus Prime Robot and Vehicle and 31145 Red Dragon. It has a large range of motion thanks to the ball joints provided by the secondary set.

The model does not transform, but is styled after the version seen in the Generation 1 animated Transformers show.

Each part used is done effectively and I love the usage of the blue L shaped tiles and grey tub to create the head and jaw of Optimus Prime. Everything looks to scale and the finished product stands proud, I’ll definitely be grabbing extra sets to build this awesome LEGO alternative build.

The design can be found on the creators Rebrickable account, where you’ll also find the instructions which are completely free. At the end you’ll have a mini Transformer of your own.

The original LEGO Optimus Prime BrickHeadz (40803) and LEGO Red Dragon (31145) sets will cost you £17.99 and £8.99. Please follow, like and comment on the creators post to show your support, Thank you and happy Building!
