I got back into LEGO in 2016 and remember seeing both The Simpsons House and the Kwik-E-Mart and always regret not picking up the latter, along with the two CMF series. Flash forward a few years and we get our first The Simpsons set since the Brickheadz double pack of Homer and Krusty that came out in 2018. Today’s review is for the latest in the lineup, Krusty Burger (10352). It comprises of 1,635 pieces and retails for £179.99.

Build:
The build is split over 12 bags. I’ll get the biggest issue out of the way first, which is the amount of stickers, 40 to be precise, it is a ridiculous number for this kind of set.

There are no printed pieces and some of these stickers should have been printed, especially for the price and 18+ theme. The volume of stickers makes the build very stop/start as you stop the building to place a sticker and sometimes there are only a few steps between stickers.
The first build is Homer’s Pink Car from the “Homie the Clown” episode. After you’ve built that you move onto the Krusty Burger restaurant itself.

The set can be fully opened up as there are hinges or if the set is closed up you can simply remove the roof. The outside has a collection window and order point, which looks really good.
It packs loads of references to the series and makes you question whether you’d like to eat there or use the questionable facilities. Inside the restaurant is spot on, although it’s a little crowded, it packs loads of details in with the ketchup/mustard dispensers, burger fryers and drink refill stations.

Once build, I particularly liked the corner seating area that works really well with the choice of red pieces.
The main sign outside looks great and just like the one in the series and the brick built Krusty faces throughout the set look great.

Minifigures:
We get Homer, Lisa and Bart Simpson, Krusty the Clown, Squeaky Voice Kid, Officer Lou and Sideshow Bob. Bart and Lisa are the same minifigures from previous sets. Homer is the same head mould but has a different torso piece. Krusty the Clown has been featured before, he is in his farmers outfit from the “Coming to Homerica” where he promotes his new vegan burgers. Squeaky Voice Kid and Officer Lou are featured in Minifigure form for the first time.
The main star of the show is Sideshow Bob who makes his first appearance in Minigifure form and to me looks excellent but is missing a rake piece to recreate some of the scenes from the series.

Price:
There’s no getting away from the fact that this set is way overpriced for the number of pieces and sheer number of stickers. I can only think that the moulds for the new minifigures pushed the price up. But even then it is disappointing that more exclusive minifigures weren’t included in the set, personally Lisa should have been swapped out for other Minifigures. For the price there are no printed pieces, which really is unforgivable, when you consider there are 40 stickers to add so the pricing doesn’t really make sense.
Display:
The colour choices work really well and are spot on, with a good mixture of bright red, orange and tan bricks. The set opens up fully allowing you to fully access the set and pose the minifigures.

Inside the set looks excellent, filled with loads of references to the series. Whilst it is crowded inside, everything works well together. The Krusty Zone looks really good as well, they’ve also done a good job of creating Krusty’s features throughout the set on various builds.
Final Thoughts:
This is a great set with awesome minifigures that is let down by price and the amount of stickers. I remember reading reviews for the Kwik-E-Mart and that had a similar issue with loads of stickers. Hopefully going forward this won’t be an issue in future sets. I am interested to see what they do next, with there being loads of options from the Nuclear Power Plant to Moe’s Tavern or the Elementary School.
Scoring:
- Build – 7
- Minifigures – 9
- Display – 8
- Price – 6
- Overal score – 7.5
