The latest LEGO DC Magazine is out now and comes complete with a Superman Minifigure and a new cape piece!

When I first saw photos of this magazine and what was included on the front cover, I knew I had to have it, being a Superman fan and Minifigure collector the new rubbery cape element was a must. Sadly it isn’t exclusive to this magazine as the cape has appeared before in red, two previous LEGO Marvel Thor sets has them also. There are also other colours to collect, again in other sets. Saying that, this is the most affordable way to optain the red rubbery cape, as the magazine is £6.99. A little pricey, yes, but it does come with a magazine for the younger fans and one of two collectable tins. The tin I precured was the box style one, which came from Tesco, other supermarkets and newsagents stock them and offer a different style of tin. The S logo tin is perhaps the more collectable one as it represents Superman better.

Both come with the Superman Minifigure inside, in bits, for you to make. The printing is good but limited to the torso only, for the price we paid I’d have expected full body, arm and leg printing for that. I’ll be honest and say I purchased one purely for the red cape, it’s most definitely the start of the show here.
The tins are of good quality and open and close as expected. The printing on them is good and will make a great Keepsake for collectors, just like the LEGO Darth Vader tins from last year.

Onto the magazine itself, and what can I say. It’s a standard LEGO magazine filled with puzzles, comics, and a poster or 2. I must say that I rarely read the comic stories included, but again these are more intended for younger fans of the series. Nothing really special inside the magazine for AFOLs but there are plenty of activities to do for those younger fans in the family.
I always carefully tear out the posters and keep them in a folder, just incase one day I want to frame and display them. The poster included in this DC themed magazine is absolutely amazing and features Superman on one side and Batman on the other. They are great pieces of art and both would look great on anyones wall!

Overall the new LEGO DC Batman Magazine Issue 40 is pretty decent, comes with a superman an a unique Rubbery cape piece. Magazine itself is generic but does have some good points, mainly the posters. For the price, £6.99, it is good.
