The winner and runners-up of the recent LEGO IdeasBuild What Your Avatar Needs‘ challenge have been announced!

The gaming-themed contest asked fans to design and build (digitally or physically) their own video game inspired sets. The guidelines were simple, design something out of bricks that would assist your avatar. It could be a super-charged vehicle, a pre-mission training area that will push you to your limits, an out-of-this-world companion to back you up, a magic-infused shield that repels all attacks – or something else entirely that fits within your game genre.

The initial submission phase received a staggering 221 designs, they were put to a fan vote where 5 entries were chosen – 1 grand prize winner and 4 runners-up. The goodies up for grabs were substantial, with the grand prize being a selection of LEGO Gaming sets; The Crafting Table, Mario & Standard Kart, Team Sonic Command Truck, Creative Houses: Seasons of Fun and Mecha Team Leader. The 4 runners-up also received a handful of goodies each; The Creeper, Shadow the Hedgehog, Durrr Burger Restaurant, Piranha Plant and K.K.’s Concert at the Plaza.
