Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) Has Swung By The Brick Post HQ!

When it comes to custom printed Minifigures we like to think we know what makes a good one. With many characters in our collection from various outlets, we certainly know what to look for. Firestar Toys isn’t necessarily new to us but this is the first time we’ve handled their Minifigures. So here is our take on one of them, the Tomb Explorer!

I’ll start off by pointing out that Firestar Toys is a reseller for Minifigures.com, who we have also yet to use.

First things first, the shipping time was very fast, from placing the initial order to receiving the goodies was just a few days. They (we also bagged Vecna, more on him another time) arrived in a plain white box that was securely packed. Inside though is the real surprise, the figures themselves, in their cool plastic casing with custom printed backboards.

Opening the case and finally holding the Minifigure in my hand, I can appreciate the slightly higher price point of Firestar Toys and Minifigures.com. The first thing that grabs you is the detail, it’s stunning, showing off dirt patches, creases in the clothing, straps, pockets, and more, I particularly like the dual faces, one plain and the other dirty. With full body printing, it truly brings the Tomb Explorer to life, coupled with her trusty bow in hand, she can defend herself from enemies and wild animals alike. 

Coming in at £24.95, the Minifigure does seem a little high in price, but like I mentioned above once you see it in person and are holding it, you really see where the money goes. The time, effort and skill that went into creating this well crafted Minifigure, you soon excuse the price. 

With the included accessories, a bow and quiver, the character is complete and really does look the part. Ready for her next adventure, Lara Croft is ready to set out and explore a tomb or two. The character means a lot to me having played every single game she has appeared in, even that playable (or unplayable) DVD game. She is an icon of the gaming world and with a new remake coming she’s sure to be around for more years to come. I’m so happy to finally have her in Minifigure form in my collection, the amount of photography shoots she will go on will be many, there’s a local Castle ruin near me which will be perfect for epic outdoor shots.
