Model makers wish England Rugby’s women good luck ahead of World Cup Final by immortalising The Red Roses in miniature form at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort®

1,088 LEGO bricks were used to build the pitch perfect new scene which includes star players captain, Zoe Aldcroft, and flying full-back, Ellie Kildunne

Thursday 25 September: Skilled model makers at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort have today unveiled a try-scoring miniature display of the England Women’s Rugby squad to wish them luck ahead of the World Cup Final.

The Red Roses captain, Zoe Aldcroft, stands proudly alongside the stars of the tournament, including World Rugby Player of the Year, Ellie Kildunne and Sadia Kabeya who have all been reimagined in a stunning new scene at the Resort’s iconic Miniland attraction.

Showing off their skills, the 32-strong squad have been built from a total of 1,088 LEGO bricks with each player displaying the iconic red rose on their shirts. Standing at 9cm tall, model makers spent 41 hours tackling the amazing display to celebrate the teams on field success as The Red Roses gear-up to face Canada in the Women’s Rugby World Cup Final on Saturday.

Daniel Brown, Model Maker at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort who led on building The Red Roses, said: “It’s been an honour to bring The Red Roses to life in LEGO form, and we’ve really scrummed down to make sure every detail was a winner. From Zoe Aldcroft leading from the front row to Ellie Kildunne’s try-scoring sparkle, this build has been a real team effort. We hope it inspires young girls to play more and give rugby a try — and we’ll be cheering on the squad to bring the World Cup home.”

The Red Roses scene will remain on display after the Women’s Rugby World Cup Final and available to visit in Miniland throughout October.

Tickets for LEGOLAND Windsor start from £34 per person, with kids under 90cm going free. For further information, please visit www.legoland.co.uk
