The five sets that make up the 7th Series of the BrickLink Designer Program were revealed in all their glory earlier this week, let’s take a closer look at the Sushi Restaurant by Brickproject!
In the heart of LEGO City lies the perfect place for Sushi lovers. Here, chefs craft Japanese dishes in an authentic setting – welcome to the Sushi Restaurant.
The set features several details inspired by the historical streets of Kyoto. Including a ground floor sushi restaurant with entry area, main kitchen, preparation room, chef’s counter, storage room, kakejiku scroll, maneki-neko. A first floor tearoom with tea ceremony utensils, zabuton, two balconies, ikebana flower arrangement. A second floor: living space with bonsai, futon, ofuro, koto, shamisen, uchiwa, tansu.

Surrounding the restaurant is a vintage Japanese tram with two railroad modules, along with a Yatai (food stall), Japanese garden (bamboo, koi fish pond, red crown crane, pergola, sakura, ishi-doro), Irori (fire pit), and vending machine.
14 Minifigures make the set come alive, included are 2 owners (Sato, Fumiko), chefs (Akira, Naomi), Yatai owner (Takumi), tram operator (Hirayama), crossing guard (Natsuki), clients (Minori, Mei, Sakura, Kōichi, Yusuke, Mimiko, Yuki), one baby, and animals (four cats, three printed koi fish tiles, ladybug, red crow crane, fish, bird, crab, rat).

The set can be divided into four parts, allowing multiple layout and display configurations, including a compact building / corner diorama / skyline (shelf friendly display) / immersive street (book nook display). The set also has an openable entrance wall for easier access / shoji with sliding doors / removable irori and tram roof.
The Tram features the possibility to motorise it too, how cool is that (needs extra pieces not included in the set).
