Blocks Magazine issue 128 will be arriving in UK stores next week, here’s what to expect inside!

The upcoming issue dives into the new releases LEGO has to offer in June along with reviews and the usual content. The team look closely at the Beauty & the Beast Castle set and interviews the LEGO Design Team behind it. That’s not all, the issue is full of reviews, instructions for custom minibuilds and so much more. The latest issue is due to arrive in UK stores around 6th June, whilst subscribers can expect them sooner. Check out the front cover image below and more details of what is in issue 128.

LEGO Beauty and the Beast Castle in Blocks magazine Issue 128
There’s a tale as old as time in the latest issue of Blocks, the monthly magazine for LEGO fans. In Issue 128, LEGO Senior Model Designer Ryan Van Woerkom takes us inside the creation of 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle. Elsewhere this month, Blocks demonstrates how to build an overgrown jungle layout, goes deep into illegal connections and reviews the new Mario Kart sets.

Issue 128 is available to order worldwide as part of a subscription or as a single issue at blocksmag.com and will be in UK stores from June 6.

LEGO Disney Senior Model Designer Ryan Van Woerkom takes us into the design process behind 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle in this issue’s cover feature. He explains how he brought different reference together to come up with a set that captures the spirit of the film. You can even see the original version of the model and compare how it started with how it ended up!

When designing the build though, Ryan had to avoid illegal connections – after all, he wouldn’t want to be arrested for using LEGO bricks wrong. To find out everything there is to know about illegal techniques, Blocks deep dives into the topic and shows many ways you shouldn’t connect elements – alongside the safe way that won’t damage your bricks.

None of the builds in this month’s magazine will damage your pieces – so you can use the parts lists and instructions to build a mini version of Beast’s Castle, Bilbo Baggins’ cosy Bag End abode from The Lord of the Rings or a modern version of 6585 Hang-Glider from the LEGO Group’s Extreme phase.

As well as those specific models, Create provides tips on building an overgrown jungle. The feature showcases an amazing natural environment built using LEGO elements, then step by step guides for specific aspects of it. You can use them to build your own jungle or incorporate them into other natural settings that you might be crafting.
