We’re back with a new LEGO Ideas feature, it’s been awhile since we last shared one with you. When perusing the platform we came across a recreation of “One of the most famous pictures in photographic history“, we are of course talking about Earthrise taken from Apollo 8 in 1968!

The fan designer of the LEGO version is BuildingDreams, who has done such an amazing job in capturing the awe-inspiring sight from the spacecrafts window, the Earth in all its glory. Taking cues from past LEGO ART sets, the creator has used plates and tiles to create layers and reproduce a section of the Earth that the sun touched that day. From the land and clouds to oceans and ice glaciers. In the foreground we see a section of the Moon, as the spacecraft was behind it at the time of taking the original photo.

This 859 piece Lego Art poster “Earthrise”, celebrates the beauty and history one of the most famous photos taken from the first crewed missions to orbit the moon.

The build is perfect for Space fans and LEGO fans alike and would look stunning hanging on the wall or as part of a themed display. History lovers will also was a slice of this as it celebrates unique and fascinating part of mankind’s history. It’s also a respectable size measuring 48cm high, 32cm wide and 2.8cm deep.

The art piece is a replica of that famous photo taken in 1968 and has been made famous worldwide and is known as “One of the most famous pictures in photographic history”

The set overall is beautiful and one I’d purchase if given the chance. Come on LEGO, this needs to be produced! We would like to wish BuildingDreams the best of luck in promoting and gaining the required 10k supporters needed to get this product idea to the next stage.
