The latest design to gain the required 10,000 supporters at LEGO Ideas is inspired by one of the most loved people, TV personality, wildlife educator, and conservationist, the late Steve Irwin!

From the talented mind of King of Crocs, comes a brick-built recreation of the late, great, man himself, Steve Irwin, accompanied by a magnificent Crocodile and cute Koala. This isn’t the first time the creator has submitted an idea based on the legend, sadly it wasn’t approved but it’s back with a few updates, including a buildable figure. Also in the idea is a Saltwater Crocodile, with posable limbs, tail, body, upper and lower jaw, a Koala with posable limbs, that is able to hang on a tree or Steve‘s back, a double sided display base, one side for a land scene, the other for an underwater scene, and decorative pieces like a young Australian Eucalyptus tree and a fish.

Being my favorite animal, realism and accuracy were really important to me and that croc is my greatest Lego achievement so far. This time, I also added a koala. – King of Crocs

The idea looks amazing and one I would certainly pickup if made. The articulation on all three buildable figures is great and definitely adds a lot to the overall design and playability. It’s the perfect display piece for Animal enthusiasts, fans of Steve Irwin and his legacy, Australia enjoyers, and of course LEGO lovers.

Unfortunately reaching the required goal of 10,000 supporters doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next/this year – we wish King of Crocs the best of luck in the next stage.
