The latest design to make it through to the next LEGO Ideas review stage is a returning fan favourite, Ratatouille!

From the talented mind of BRICKS-SGE, the Ratatouille idea has been seen many times before, in different forms. This one though focuses on the restaurant building itself, in full modular form. Built on a 28×46 sized baseplate, the idea looks nothing short of fantastic, and would definitely be on my wishlist if LEGO decided to make it. It recently gained the required 10,000 supporters and earned its place in the next review stage, happening sometime next year.

This project is based on the Gusteaus restaurant, which has 3 floors, the first, the restaurant, divided into the living room where people eat and the kitchen, the second, Ego’s office and the third, Linguini’s apartment.

BRICKS-SGE has done a wonderful job in capturing the essence of the restaurant seen in the Disney movie Ratatouille. I’m sure fans of both LEGO and the movie would love to get their hands on this set if it were real. The tan coloured architecture looks great, with the dash of dark red and blue to offset it. Factor in a layered design and you have a fancy looking building, complete with detailed interior areas.

Unfortunately reaching the required goal of 10,000 supporters doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next year – we wish BRICKS-SGE the best of luck in the next stage. We hope this time LEGO do the right thing andale it happen!
