Build your very own Rocky space friend thanks to The_Astral_J. Whilst perusing Rebrickable, the world’s largest marketplace for MOCs, Alternative Builds and more, I came across an awesome alternative build where you can recreate the Project Hail Mary rock-based companion in LEGO form!

The talented creator, The_Astral_J, has taken one totally unrelated set, LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Bunny (31162), and transformed it into Rocky from the blockbuster movie Project Hail Mary. The build utilises the tan coloured elements well, as they are the perfect colour for rocks. Each leg features ball & joint articulation and allows for good movement. The official LEGO Rocky Minifigure is adorable, but The_Astral_J wanted a slightly larger Eridean buddy of his own. This Rocky space friend is ready to help with his sturdy core and standing 3.7in (9.4cm) tall.

You’ll need to either have the LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Bunny (31162) set already or source, but thankful you want need any extra parts, in fact you’ll have about half of the pieces left over. The LEGO set is most likely on same, due to it being an Easter-themed build, available at most good Toy retailers snd supermarkets.

The designer has done an incredible job with the build and would be on most fans list to add to their collections. If the images are anything to go by it’ll be a blast to put together. The_Astral_J has produced a high quality design that will sit an any shelf with ease and not look out of place at all.

To build your own, visit Rebrickable and purchase the instructions for just $3, it’s a steal when you think just how much work went into the build itself and the production of the instruction manual. You’ll need to have the the original. Check out the images below and share your thoughts in the comments section. Please support the creator by purchasing the instructions via Rebrickable.
