The latest fan submitted design to make it into the LEGO Ideas Third 2025 Review Stage, which runs until 5th January 2026, recreates a Japanese manga series into a brick-built playset!
The Naruto: Ichiraku Ramen Shop project was submitted by DadiTwins and has made the required 10,000 supporters. It joins other submissions which make up the next Review Stage. Fans could see the idea come to life if the project is chosen by the powers that be.
We could not think on a better location to commemorate Naruto’s 20th anniversary than the Ichiraku Ramen Shop. It is a place that awakens happiness and makes you remember good and emotional moments of the saga. After every mission Naruto and his teammates went to Ichiraku Ramen Shop to have dinner. It is the place where Naruto received the encouragement from his academy teacher to start his Path of the Ninja, the beginning of an extraordinary adventure. – DadiTwins
If, like me, you’re not familiar with the manga series, Wikipedia thankfully has us covered. Naruto[a] is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young, socially isolated ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. The story is told in two parts: the first is set in Naruto’s pre-teen years (volumes 1–27), and the second in his teens (volumes 28–72). The series is based on two one-shot manga by Kishimoto: Karakuri (1995), which earned Kishimoto an honorable mention in Shueisha’s monthly Hop Step Award the following year, and Naruto (1997).
DadiTwins has done a wonderful job in recreating the characters as Minifigures and the Ramen Shop as a fully fledged LEGO playset. Unfortunately reaching the goal doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next year – Watch this space for all your LEGO & Brick news!
