This is the droid you’ve been looking for, the Gingerbread BD-1 alternative LEGO build by the_astral_j!
The alt builds for the hugely popular LEGO Star Wars Gingerbread AT-AT Walker (40806) have slowed down considerably, but that isn’t due to a lack of ideas, far from it, as the_astral_j has created BD-1 from the hit video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
BD-1 is an explorer droid that accompanied Jedi Master Eno Cordova during the last years of the Galactic Republic. Following Order 66 and the rise of the Galactic Empire, the droid befriended Cal Kestis, a former Padawan who endeavored to rebuild the fallen Jedi Order.
The talented designer, the_astral_j, has taken the AT-AT Walker and totally transformed it into one of the smallest and friendliest droid in the galaxy, BD-1. The overall design is stunning and being made of Gingerbread (LEGO) where are many extra details including a wreath eye-socket, candy cane antenna, and Christmas lights trailed around his body. The creator has done a great job in recreating the iconic shape of the droid using only parts available in the original set, it joins the many other alternative builds in Gingerbread form that we’ve shared over the last few months.
