The LEGO Shopping Street (11371) modular dropped 1st January and there have been many alternative builds, the latest is brought to you by Petrus Odyssey!
The talented fan designer has taken the 3,000 plus piece set (plus a smaller one) and given it a Comic Book shop makeover. The build is an alternate design of the Shopping Street (11371) and Peter Parker’s Apartment (76317) sets, using parts found in both, nothing more. It keeps some of the original sets features including colour schemes, but built in a completely different way, it even has the word COMIC above the shop. The indent made by the two angled buildings is gone and instead is a typical row of shops with a fancy front step.

The central building is a Comic Shop, wedged between two narrower ones. Inside are a ton of details including racks full of Comics, a living space, and more. I’ve yet to build my copy of the LEGO Shopping Street (11371) but from the reviews I’ve read the inside lacks detail, this alternative build looks as though it’s crammed to the rafter. Many fans may prefer this to the original, as it was not widely accepted by many AFOLs. The size of the set remains the same and the pieces used are done to good effect, it looks stunning and rather grandeur. Petrus Odyssey has done a great job in designing and building this alternate build, from the tiled walkway and exterior details, to the colour scheme of dark blues, whites and dark tan.
The alternative design can be found on Rebrickable, where you’ll also find the instructions which cost just $16.99, a great price for a great alternative set. Please follow, like and comment on the creators post to show your support, Thank you. Happy Building!
