With the new He-Man Masters of the Universe trailer debuting today, we thought it very apt to share this particular LEGO alternative build with you – Castle Grayskull by Anderson_Brick_Art!

The talented designer has taken four existing LEGO sets and combined them to make something every 80s kids weep with joy. Castle Grayskull is a fictional castle that forms a central location in the Masters of the Universe toy/comic/animation universe, it also appears in the 1987 live action adaptation. In the original materials it looks more menacing with its dark green like walls and large Skull entrance. This alternative set build takes that and gives it a much needed LEGO makeover whilst keeping the core design the same, four walls, a tower, and of course the giant stone Skull.

Using a total of four existing LEGO sets, the initial spend to make this alternative build is quote substantial. You’ll need to pickup 2x Medieval Horse Knight Castle (31168) and 2x Majestic Rhino with Birds (31171). Purchasing these at full retail price would be £330, obviously with sales from other retailers you’ll get a better deal, which is the better option, but you are looking to spend a reasonable amount on this alternative LEGO build. Castle Grayskull does come in at just over 4,000 pieces, making a very worthwhile and substantial build, for fans it’s the perfect and only way to acquire a legitimate LEGO set, currently.

This build resembles the Castle Grayskull toy from the ’80s. It can be opened to reveal the interior. Anderson_Brick_Art

For the size of the set and the pieces it uses the bull look absolutely stunning, Anderson_Brick_Art has gone a wonderful job in designing and building this alternative set. Fromnthe grey Castle walls, the Skull entrance, the tower and the drawbridge, it’s a sight to behold. I am personally a big fan of Castles and anything LEGO related, this would be top of my list of builds if I had the funds available. It’s a shame LEGO has never done a He-Man set, I guess with the current licence being held by a different company it’s hard, but there is hope, as we’ve seen recently. Otherwise impossible sets have been approved and made, let’s all cross our fingers for an official LEGO Masters of the Universe set.

The alternative design can be found on Rebrickable, where you’ll also find the instructions which cost just $10, a great price for a great alternative set. Please follow, like and comment on the creators post to show your support, Thank you. Happy Building!
