The latest fan submitted design to make it into the LEGO Ideas Third 2025 Review Stage, which runs until 5th January 2026, takes an iconic 90s boy band and transforms them into a LEGO set!
The Backstreet Boys: I Want It That Way project was submitted by H1GHDEF1N1T1ON and has made the required 10,000 supporters. It joins other submissions which make up the next Review Stage. Fans could see the idea come to life if the project is chosen by the powers that be.
I recreated the 1999 worldwide hit song: “I Want it That Way”. The musical phenomenon was/is performed by the American Boy Band known as The Backstreet Boys, and has generated over a billion streams to this day.
H1GHDEF1N1T1ON has done a wonderful job in recreating the the boy band in all their glory, complete with matching bright-white outfits. The build is based on the just as iconic music video of the 1999 hit song I Want It That Way, where they dance & sing infront of a Boeing 727.
Unfortunately reaching the goal doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next year – we wish H1GHDEF1N1T1ON the best of luck in the next stage.
