Inspiring LEGO Instagram Accounts You Need To Follow!

Joining a social media network can be daunting, whether you’re a complete newbie or a seasoned user you can be left asking yourself where do I start and who should I follow. This article will at least point you in the direction of which LEGO related accounts inspire and benefit the community, be it MOC inspiration (my own creation), how to take better photographs, getting arty, and generally having a laugh.

First things first, give the official LEGO account a follow, after all the World wouldn’t be the same without LEGO!

BrickCentral is an online LEGO photography community who motivate people to take photos of LEGO Minifigures and sets with their monthly creative prompts, sharing inspirational photos from the community, give tips on how to shoot creatively, and post in-depth behind the scenes at how top LEGO photographers work.

Stuck In Plastic are a collective of wannabe grown-ups taking pictures of toys and exploring the whole creative process. Irwanlast:

Irwanlast is an extremely talented photographer from Indonesia that specialises in snapping LEGO Minifigures and Toys in different environments and scenes.

The way he setups up and captures each photo is stunning and a real work of art. He sometimes shows you a behind-the-scenes look at how he does it. An incredible selection of photos and and even greater inspiration to those that follow him, I have personally taken on board some of this tips when shooting scenes for #sigfigscene.

Virginia Bricks:

Dana has fast become known as the Mosaic Queen with her talent for creating Art with small LEGO pieces. She cohosts a weekly hashtag on Instagram with fellow mosaic creator Johnbtoys. Follow and take part in their #mosaicsonmonday event

Dana’s creations are stunning and more often than not feature a layered ‘3D‘ effect, these works of art are fit to hang on anyone’s wall, LEGO should take note!

BillsBrickz:

BillsBrickz was nominated by a few of our readers and a worthy addition to the ‘must follow’ list. He is a LEGO MOC designer and a Digital Artist.

His work is mostly centred around Star Wars and Sci-fi, with some builds being quite large. For me personally the attention to detail is what sets BillsBrickz apart from everybody, the sense of grandeur but on a smaller scale is beautiful.

STL_Brick_Co:

I’ve personally followed Brian for quite awhile now and I must say I find his MOCs to be interesting, highly detailed and he tends to use LEGO colours others don’t, for instance his amazing Sand Green Castle.

Brian is also a specialist in Plastic and is a fonte of knowledge when it comes to LEGO and how it’s made, follow him not just for his awesome posts but also his very informative Instagram Stories. He also points out new parts and recolours in new set reveals which comes in very handy for MOC builders and new part enthusiasts.

JJK_BrickPhotography:

If you love LEGO photography you need to follow Jennifer from JJK_BrickPhotography, her photos are great fun, action-packed, and crystal clear.

I’m a big fan of accounts like this as it inspires me to take better photos and to try new things. The blurred backgrounds and crisp foreground really work and make the LEGO characters pop and come to life, each photo tells a story.

Hachiroku24:

This account produces some awesome looking MOCs covering a vast array of themes, you’ll find Star Wars, Marvel, Jurassic Park, Transformers, basically anything cool Hachiroku24 builds!

The size of his MOCs are great too and again gives inspiration to myself and many others that builds don’t have to be huge and can simply be smaller corner sections packed with details, characters, and more.

This Father & Son duo are a must follow, they produce top quality content which usually covers the funny side of LEGO. If you love Tiktok style videos then you’ll adore these two. Having an awesome LEGO Cityscape helps and is very interesting to watch grow.

From building LEGO sets live on YouTube & Instagram, they cover a wide variety of subjects, some of my personal favourites are when the light-heartedly make fun of the hobby, like hiding recent LEGO purchases from his partner!

We’ve been following and interacting with this account since we joined Instagram. Being a LEGO Castle fan we found his builds and instructions to be invaluable, his work and attention to detail is incredible, he has recently produced a digital annual filled with puzzles, tips, Mini-build instructions and more, it’s free too!

This account is new to me but from what I’ve seen already it’s one I’m going to enjoy following. Being into LEGO Modular Buildings and custom builds myself, seeing what can be created and added to them, is astonishing. The amount of detail they add makes any barefaced building a delight to look upon, with flora, balconies, canopies and so much more.

I will definitely be taking notes for when I get around to creating a LEGO Cityscape!

BrickFamBuilds are the founders and hosts of Habitats, small but highly creative LEGO builds that bring the community together to showcase talents from around the World.

Using an 8×8 plate as a base and building up the two back walls, you make a scene, making sure to leave connection points either side to connect to others. The concept is simple but that’s what makes it so popular, pretty much everyone can get involved!

Brick Chef:

I’ve followed this account for awhile now and it’s very well executed, the short Tiktok style videos are perfect for LEGO fans. Packed with informative set details and usually a 360 degree look at the model, it’s great for finding out about the sets you already have or future purchases. I’ve purchased many sets based off what I’ve seen here.

A little closer to home now and a quick shoutout to The Brick Boyz, a small band of friends, that met through their love of LEGO and alternative brands, on Instagram.
