One of the latest designs to gain the required 10,000 supporters and added to a future review stage at LEGO Ideas is the Motorised Steampunk Submarine!

The talented designer behind the brick-built recreation is Liam Paradise, who has built a Submarine but given it a Steampunk twist. The model looks absolutely stunning with its sand green body and gold accents, it also has a ton of working components such as cogs, levers, and more. Steampunk is a popular genre that offers so many creative possibilities, the unusual combination of natural elements with mechanical features would make it a really unique LEGO set that works great as both a fun play set and an impressive display piece.

I’ve been interested in the underwater world since a young age, and I was inspired by the coral reefs and marine life which I have witnessed snorkelling in places such as Indonesia, Thailand and other parts of South East Asia. – Liam Paradise

The idea looks great and rather fantastical, with the combination of underwater transport and the bronze/gold accents of machinery. If LEGO decide to make it, it would be one many fans of Steampunk would love the opportunity to purchase, display on their shelf, and admire. I think the overall look is great and the scale and Minifigures are spot on, it certainly brings something different to the LEGO Ideas table.

Unfortunately reaching the required goal of 10,000 supporters doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next/this year – we wish Liam Paradise the best of luck in the next stage – it’s truly beautiful.
