One of the latest LEGO Ideas fan submitted design to make it to 10k supporters takes a much loved animated character, and his ride, and gives it a LEGO makeover!

The project was submitted by Firecracker_ and is the most recent submission to hit the required 10,000 supporters mark. It joins other submissions which make up the next Review Stage. Fans could see the idea come to life if the project is chosen by the powers that be.

The build is based on the Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is an animated tv series produced by Nickelodeon from 2005-2008. Set in a world where people can manipulate the elements of water, earth, fire, and air, the show follows Aang, the last Airbender and the Avatar, in his fight against the Fire Nation. With the help of his friends, he masters all four elements and restores balance to the world.

Firecracker_ has done a wonderful job in recreating Aang and the rest of the gang, including Appa the loyal sky bison. It looks beautifully designed and it would definitely be on my wishlist if LEGO chose this one to become a real-life set, having seen some of the cartoon and the relatively recent live-action TV series.

Avatar: The Last Airbender remains a timeless classic enjoyed by people of all ages, making it the perfect match for a LEGO set!

Unfortunately reaching the goal doesn’t guarantee it’ll be made into a real-life LEGO set, but there is hope for fans as the LEGO Ideas team will debate on and choose which sets will be lucky enough to make it through sometime next year – we wish Firecracker_ the best of luck in the next stage.
