The LEGO Baby Astronaut (40767) gift with purchase set was released in May of this year, it was an instant hit with fans. The cute buildable red Baby Astronaut looks great in his own but there was something missing, a display option. That’s where BrixBox comes in, they asked me if I’d like to try a couple of their cases, this one was top of the list!

Here is how we got on and what we ultimately think of the BrixBox Baby Astronaut case.

Let’s start at the beginning – delivery day came and what turned up was a standard brown box. Inside though the contents were neatly wrapped and presented, each of the cases they had sent us had labels on. For something that could seemingly scratch easily, I appreciated the extra protection the bubbled wrap and tightly packed box offered.

Once the outer packaging was disposed of, in the various recycling bins, I laid out the case in its individual parts. The screws & corner joints, the base & sides and finally the printed backdrop, which looks absolutely stunning I must say. I proceeded to grab the instruction sheet, read through it quickly and got to work. From peeling off the protective film to the finished case, it was over in a flash. I was done in about 10 minutes tops, so there’s no need to worry if you think it’s difficult, I’m the least handy person I know so you’ll be fine.

This isn’t my first rodeo, having prior knowledge helped with constructing the case, but like I say it’s very intuitive and straightforward. Starting with the sides and back panels, you carefully hold the panels together, two at a time to begin with then balance the other parts on top making for easier screwing.

Attaching the corner cubes and screwing into them, it was a little fiddly, being 6’5″ I have big hands and sausage fingers, but I soon found my flow. Before I knew it most of the case was together, all that was left was to attach the backdrop. I went for the printed option, which has the Moon in the foreground, the Earth in the background and a small Rocket flying through Space. The quality it great and the printing is crisp, definitely the icing on the cake!

Once the backdrop is attached, the case is pretty much done, thanks to the small magnets on the base you simply pop the square windowed-piece on top and it snaps into place. Next you grab the Baby Astronaut and rest it in the square socket, pop the case over the top and onto the grooves on the base and hey-presto, the BrixBox case is complete.

The price is also very affordable compared to other brands. Starting off at just £13.99, you can kit out your LEGO Baby Astronaut set in style. The printed backdrop is a little more but still at £16.99, it won’t break the bank and BrixBox also ship relatively quickly too.

Thank you to BrixBox for gifting us this amazingly crafted and built product. It not only protects your prized LEGO sets but they also look awesome doing it.

We pride ourselves on being honest in out reviews and I can honestly say this is a great display option for the LEGO Baby Astronaut set. There aren’t any negative points at all and that’s Soemthing to shout about. We willove the little Space adventurer in the case and on display amongst our LEGO collection.
